Note from editor:
Michael Neno and I created The Vicar to be a recurring character in Nix Comics Quarterly with the potential to be graduated to his own series. Inspired equally by classic monster hunting characters and musicians like Joey ramone and Question Mark, The Vicar stories revolve around an endless tour where the unearthly lead singer slays the vampires, werewolves and ghouls hiding in teh audience at teh seamy nite clubs and bars he plays. The Vicar has appeared in all eight issues to date, with Michael taking only a one issue break, with Matt Wyatt standing in for issue #4's story.
2016 being more or less the fifth anniversary of Nix Comics (depending on how you count such things) I thought it was appropriate to see if I could take The Vicar to his next stage of evolution, as a feature character in his own comic. I'm not sure if that will happen as a Nix publication, or perhaps in tandem with another publsiher with greater capacity for promotion and distribution. Either way, I'll need some dough to get the wheels rollin', so to raise the funds for the next step, I am going to offer a limited run collected edition of the Vicar stories to date.
The collection will include all new pin-up art, insights into the musicians (obvious and not so obvious) who inspired the Vicar, notes on every story and a plot synopsis for the proposed first issue of a Vicar stand alone series.
