August 2021 Nix Comics Update

Tell Me About The Dough, Joe:

August 2021’s Nix Comics financial state is really easy to report on. No money changed hands any which way. That’s easy to write about! (Actually, artist precarity is a pretty complex and deep issue which I’ll be writing at length about this last semester of mine at the John Glenn School for Public Affairs… But in this case? Short and sweet.)

Given the ultimate brevity of my transactional summary, I thought I’d fill out this month’s update with the complete set of my daily journal attendance cards. As you can see, My mood and and self confidence were kind of on a yo-yo. Sometimes I was feeling superhuman in my capabilities and sometimes I was feeling constrained by forces beyond my control. Both are probably true.

RECORDS I LISTENED TO IN AUGUST:
Pretty good month in terms of number of records played. Over 5 per day average! Part of that is due to my new exercise habits; I’ve been hitting the elliptical machine in the morning and usually work out for a length equal to 2 LP sides. Fun note: Sometime in September I should hit the 1,000th record I’ve listened to in 2021. Not sure if I’m going to pick one of personal significance to myself or just look back and figure out which record it randomly ended up being… but either way, it sounds like a good excuse for a blog post!
